Cleveland record label Little Fish Records has teamed up with some other folks to present this celebration of the non-end of the world featuring 15 bands from a variety of genres on three stages along with guest speakers and painters to benefit local charities.

 

2) MIX at CMA: Runway, 5-9 p.m. Friday, Cleveland Museum of Art, 1150 East Blvd., $8 in advance, $10 day of show, www.clevelandart.org, 216-421-7350.

The Cleveland Museum of Art promises an “evening of culture and couture” featuring cocktails and runway fashion collections from several local designers and an opportunity to make your own accessories at the Make-It station.

 

3) Deconstructing the Early Beatles Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! 6:30 p.m. Friday, Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gartner Auditorium, 11150 East Blvd., $15-$36, clevelandart.org, 216-421-7350 or 888-262-0033.

You love the Beatles, don’t ya? Well, so does composer-producer Scott Freiman, who will offer a multimedia presentation Friday that will break down some of the Fab Four’s early singles. Freiman will return at 1 p.m. Saturday to break down the watershed Revolver album, and at 1:30 p.m. Sunday he will take on Strawberry Fields.

 

4) Shrek the Musical, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall, 198 Hill St., University of Akron; $34-$54. 330-972-7570.

Another billion-dollar movie franchise jumps off the movie screen to commandeer the stages of America in hopes of generating a few more billion dollars.

 

5) Elvis Birthday Tribute featuring the Elvis Recreators, 7 p.m. Sunday, $10-$45, PlayhouseSquare State Theatre, 1519 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, www.playhousesquare.org.

Elvis Presley would have been 78 on Tuesday had he been better able to curb his appetites. But since he’s not here, the Elvis Recreators will cover Presley’s four important eras of his career, including the early rockabilly years, the military and movie years, the still impressive ’68 comeback special and the eventually sad Las Vegas jumpsuit years. Playing Elvis will be Shawn Klush, Donny Edwards and Cody Slaughter with help from rock hall of famer and longtime Elvis drummer D.J. Fontana and vocal group the Sweet Inspirations.
