If you don’t know Brad and Kelly Ruth, you should! Their passion and commitment to bring families together for a stellar dining experience is the gift that just keeps on giving to the Greater Akron Area! For 15 years, Bellacino’s Pizza and Grinders in Stow has fed our community a healthy dose of pride. Standing out is pretty much synonymous with everything Brad and Kelly do. They bring their hospitable dining experience to everyone, from the likes of local youth sporting teams, Kent State and University of Akron athletic teams, and even the Cleveland Cavaliers. They care about every aspect of their delectable Italian cuisine, which makes the totality of the experience amazing!

Bellacino’s of Stow opened in 1998 in a small location in the Stow-Kent Plaza off of Route 59. As with any new business, Brad and Kelly worked grueling 90-hour weeks in the beginning, as they began their own family in their first year. Every morning at 4 am Brad and Kelly arrived to begin baking for the day. Their work ethic and devotion to their patrons and the community to ensure mealtime is a complete family experience is astounding.

Bellacino’s bakes their bread from scratch to guarantee freshness, and let me tell you—it makes all the difference! My personal favorite is the Chicago Steak Grinder; this thinly sliced ribeye steak sandwich baked to perfection comes smothered with mushrooms, onions, mozzarella cheese, and Bellacino’s own delicious garlic spread. The freshness of their ingredients allows for a great rise in flavor! Everything on the menu comes from a bake to promote health benefits--there are no fried foods at Bellacino’s. All of the grinders, pizza, and salads are made to order. Bellacino’s also offer an extensive dessert menu with the warm cinnamon sticks topping the list. They are made with medium pizza dough baked with butter, cinnamon, sugar, and of course icing—you may be caught licking your fingers after the first bite!

Today, the menu isn’t the only thing Brad and Kelly have expanded—their growth has allowed Bellacino’s to offer full service catering for businesses, parties, graduations, and sporting events. Also, a much larger location that includes a game room for kids, an outdoor patio, a full bar with exclusive distribution of the vibrant local IPA—Madcap, a beautiful banquet room that is perfect for birthday parties, baby showers, or any other momentous occasion where quality and care of preparation, attention to detail, and freshness of ingredients are paramount. Bellacino’s has a great family environment and is the kind of place nostalgic family memories are made. Even if you have a large group, space accommodations are made immediately to ensure your wait is minimal. The success of Bellacino’s in part, beyond the consistent meals and punctual service, is that Brad and Kelly are great listeners. Customers and employees alike have given them ideas on food concepts and they run with it. They can be spotted walking around the restaurant affectionately engaging customers and employees. Brad and Kelly see the potential in people and people see the potential in them!

Bellacino’s offers a different food and drink special everyday, and kids eat free on Sunday! They have Cruisin Auto Shows, an Indoor Cornhole league January-April, and a seasonal beer tasting. Brad and Kelly have a very keen eye for great family orientation and hospitality. Bellacino’s is the place to be before and after high school games and even caters free pizza for the kids and staff at Safety Town. They tirelessly give back to the community supporting various programs and teams financially, in addition to investing personal time in mentoring high school kids in the Entrepreneur program at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. All of this while balancing family life with their own three children! They are true role models and their employees certainly recognize it. Most are Kent State students and spend the duration of their undergraduate experience working for Brad and Kelly learning work ethic and great customer service skills. Brad frequently says “you are the difference maker,” and he and Kelly have been just that by offering a good, fresh, and quality meal combined with excellent service and entertainment.
