Name: Arnon W. “Sonny” Cool.

Age: 76.

Hometown: Akron.

Role: President of the Summit County Veterans Service Commission and commander of the Military Honors Burial Team out of VFW Post 3383. Awarded Purple Hearts for wounds in Korea and Vietnam, served 22 years in the Army.

“We live in the greatest country in the world. We have freedom of religion. ...We can go to any school we want. It is our right as being born as Americans.”

At military funerals, he says: “Every veteran deserves some kind of a final salute.”

And he tells family as he presents the flag: “On behalf of a grateful nation, I am honored to present this flag under which your brother, mother, father so faithfully and honorably served.”
