League: Independent.

Coach: Vic Whiting, 15th season at Northwest and 26th overall.

Coach’s record: 109-51, 203-79 overall.

2012 record: 2-8.

Players to watch: T.D. Culp, Sr. QB-DB; Tristan Mullane, Sr. TB-DB; Andrew Colon, Sr. WR; Jackson Schultz, Sr. TE-LB; Johnny Masters, Sr. WR-DB; Jerrad Cox, Sr. OL; Colton Hershberger, Sr. OL; Angelo Kolinoff, Sr. OL; Michael Zervos, Jr. DB; Matt Ramsey, Jr. LB.

Outlook: The Indians return eight starters on offense, seven starters on defense and the entire kicking unit. A team whose youth became evident last season looks to build this season on the experience gained. “We had a lot of young kids playing in key roles last year, particularly skill positions,” Whiting said. “We lost six games with leads in the fourth quarter. But all those young kids are now older kids, so we have a more experienced team.” Whiting identifies an evenly spread senior class among skill positions and winning tradition as strengths. Perceived weaknesses might still be a lack of depth and a small junior class. “We still have some young kids who will have to step in and fill the holes,” Whiting said. “How fast they come along will determine how well we play.”
