The eighth annual What’s Cooking? event, sponsored by The Women’s Guild of St. Mary Parish in Hudson, Ohio, is slated for Sunday, November 3rd from noon to 4 p.m. This Autumn Home Tour and Culinary Delight will showcase six beautiful homes, six outstanding chefs, and six talented florists. Homeowners in Hudson’s Historic Village, Evamere Heights Warner Estates, Fox Trace Subdivision, Williamsburg Colony, and The Woods of the Western Reserve neighborhoods have graciously offered to include their homes in this year’s distinguished lineup. Each home will be seasonally decorated by Baumann’s Florist and Greenhouse; The Budding Tree; Dean White; Molly Taylor Floral Designs; Oregon Corners Florist; and Silver Lake Florist. Six themed baskets, created and donated by the Women’s Guild Circles, will be featured, one at each home, and raffle tickets for these will be available throughout the day.

What’s Cooking? will provide attendees with a guided tour of the main floor of six tastefully-appointed homes while sampling selections from Cleveland’s Pura Vida by Brandt; Twinsburg’s Blue Canyon Kitchen and Tavern; and Hudson restaurants Lager & Vine Gastropub & Wine Bar; Marcelita’s; Nosh Eatery and Creative Catering; Rosewood Grill; and 3 Palms Pizzeria & Bakery. The interactive format of this unique home tour allows for on-site cooking demonstrations, wine selection advice, and entertaining tips in an informal atmosphere. Ticketholders will have access to all six venues, viewed in any order. The four-hour timeframe ensures that all homes and chef specialties may be enjoyed at a leisurely pace.

Proceeds from What’s Cooking? enable The Women’s Guild of St. Mary Parish to support local, national, and international charities, as well as meet parish needs. In the past seven years, the What’s Cooking? event has raised in excess of $90,000 and has supported a variety of charities- many assisting women and children in need. Hurricane Katrina victims, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago, Habitat for Humanity, Peter Maurin Center, Community Pregnancy Care, Providence House of Cleveland, Regina Health Center, St. Jude’s Hospital, St. Thomas Hospital Spiritual Garden, The Orphan’s Prayer, St. Bernard Hunger Group Meal Supplements, and Children of Ubumi, to name but a few, have all been beneficiaries in the past.

Event tickets at $45 will be available at the office at St. Mary’s, as well as at The Learned Owl Book Shop and Acme in Hudson, payable by cash or check only at these locations, from October 1 through November 2. To purchase tickets online using a credit card, visit whatscooking2013.eventbrite.com. Advanced-sale-only tickets will be limited to 400. Directions to each Hudson home will be provided on the ticket booklet. For information about placing an advertisement in the booklet or becoming an event patron, please call Mary Auth at 330-653-9203 or Beth Gilliam at 330-655-4349.

What’s Cooking? is the only fundraiser of The Women’s Guild of St. Mary Parish, and its success is a direct result of the enthusiasm of its attendees; the generosity of the homeowners, chefs, and florists; and the dedicated efforts of its committee members and approximately 125 volunteers.
