Two brothers, ages 9 and 13, were arrested on attempted robbery charges after pulling out a BB gun and twice trying to rob a man, police said.
The East Avenue boys are being held in the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
A 56-year-old man shoveling his driveway on Ruth Avenue told police the boys confronted him the first time about 1:40 p.m. One boy pulled what appeared to be a handgun from his waistband and demanded money. The man ignored the boys and they left, police said.
About 90 minutes later, the brothers returned and made the same demand. This time, the victim followed the boys in his vehicle and called police.
The boys were later stopped near Mallison Avenue and Vernon Odom Boulevard and arrested. Police say the BB gun looked like a real handgun and included a magazine-type clip to hold ammunition.
